Everyone’s a critic

trimmerThe book review is an under-appreciated art form.   But e-publishers are working to change this.  Realising the potent marketing tool that is Other Reader’s Opinions, they and the authors who e-publish, shamelessly encourage and solicit reviews from all and sundry.  Now whilst some of these reviews are interesting fodder for the student of the constant evolution (or devolution, depending on your viewpoint) of English usage, spelling, grammar and syntax, some are minor works of art.

These reviews are famous amongst the cognoscenti, gems of the art, and a salutary reminder for the luddite that  the internet is a delightful wonderland of wit and erudition and sheer rollicking farce if you know where to look.
